The Firefox OS Pitch: Options

According to Cult of Mac, Mozilla believes that It Doesn’t Matter How Delicious” Apple And Android Are, We Need More Options.

It seems that there are still organisations around operating on the belief that people want choice. Generally, we don’t because choice means compromise - on price points, features, etc.

We want what we want, and not a compromise product. We compromise only when we cant get something close to what we want.

Mozilla’s only hope will be to gain traction in emerging markets where customers need cheap smartphones. Until Apple releases some sort of budget iPhone, Android will reign in the entry-level segment of the smartphone market. With a mobile OS that’s basically a glorified web browser, Mozilla doesn’t stand a chance.

IOW, find target markets that don’t get what they want, and make them compromise…
